Principal's Message
Mr. Garcia, Principal
Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
It is my privilege to welcome you all to Cloverdale Elementary. We are very excited to have you with us. Thank you for entrusting us with your most valuable treasures. We will work tirelessly to keep them safe and surround them with a wonderful learning community. Our teachers and staff never stop learning and attend professional development year round to provide our students with a balanced and enriched academic environment. With you and our staff working together, I have every reason to believe that we will make this a great academic school year. I want to challenge you all to live our Lion’s Creed everyday and be “Leaders by Example!” Please remind our lions to always make every effort to enter school with a positive attitude and a growth mindset. Believe in the power of “Yet,” as in when we don’t understand something the first time we say, “not yet.” We have lots of wonderful learning opportunities waiting for us and great memories to create. At Cloverdale we care about your child's education and well-being.
At Cloverdale we have many unique and creative learning opportunities for our students. We offer Ballet Folklórico in grades 4 and 5, beginner and advanced band, and Choir. We are also very excited to continue our California Cadet Corps program. Our school offers Mandarin lessons and makes them available to all of our students in grades 1-5. We also offer Friday Night Live Kids and Peer Mediator programs. We are also in the process of starting an E-Sports club for our students.
We will be using Q Communications, social media, and our school website to keep you informed. I encourage you to follow us on Instagram using Cloverdale lions. We are also on Facebook. We are working on our new and revamped Cloverdale school app and will let you know once it is ready for download. Please make sure that you create a Parent Portal account if you have not already done so. This is mandatory for all families and vital for us to be able to communicate with you effectively. If you need assistance please stop by or contact our school office. I ask that you maintain communication with your child’s teacher throughout the school year.
We are planning to continue to have special events to inform you and keep you engaged in your child’s learning. I invite you all to join us and become involved in our school through our various parent clubs and committees including PTA, SSC, AAPAC, and ELAC. Together we have the ability to make this year a great one.
Please make sure to contact us if you have any questions and we can be of any assistance. Visit us at cloverdale.mvusd.net for more information and resources. You may also contact us at 951-571-4550.
Respectfully,
Genaro Garcia
Principal
